PROGRAMS / COMPETITIVE PATH
There are two program options within Valor Soccer's Competitive Path, Premier and Select. For the 2020/21 Playing Cycle, the Competitive Path is available to the U9-U19 age groups, which includes birth years 2002-2012. Players born after 2012 may request to be evaluated to play up.
Tryouts are required for Premier and Select team placement. Tryouts take place each Spring.
The full season begins at the Team Formation Meeting (TFM) post tryouts for the player's age group and ends at the start of tryouts for the player's age group for the following year or the conclusion of State Cup tournaments, if applicable. There are significant breaks built into the schedule throughout the playing cycle for mandatory rest.
The Premier program is designed to offer the highest level of competitive play sponsored by Washington Youth Soccer.
The Select program is designed to offer a competitive level of play while still allowing the flexibility to make other sports and activities a high priority.
Club dues cover the costs of state, regional association, and league fees,
entry fees for two (2) Valor Soccer-hosted tournaments, entry fees for Washington Youth Soccer-sponsored state cup tournaments, field rental and maintenance, administrative costs, coaching fees (Premier only), referee fees, and other operational costs.

COMPETITIVE PATH KIT
Every odd numbered year, Premier and Select players are required to purchase the complete Nike Competitive Path Kit ($330) from SOCCER.COM. The kit includes home and away jerseys, two practice jerseys, one pair of shorts, two pairs of socks, warm-up jacket, warm-up pants, and backpack. New players will be required to purchase the complete kit regardless of the year.
Team fees vary per team. These fees are calculated by the Team Manager and include any extracurricular activities the team decides to participate in. These activities include entry fees for extra tournaments, team-building activities, team parties, and travel expenses. Team fees also cover travel expenses for coaches.
Fundraisers significantly help the club offset operational costs. Currently, Valor Soccer hosts one major fundraiser, Valor Day. Valor Day is Valor Soccer’s annual club appreciation celebration and fundraiser. Valor Day takes place in September and marks the regular season kickoff of all five of Valor’s programs. All members of Valor Soccer are invited to attend Valor Day for day full of food, fun, and games. All Competitive Path teams will be required to provide one (1) gift basket for the silent auction and one to two (1-2) desserts for the raffle at Valor Day. Teams are also encouraged to hold team-specific fundraisers, such as car washes, restaurant nights, etc., to offset team fees.
To help keep overall club costs down, each Competitive Path family (multiple players count as one family) is obligated to serve eight (8) hours of volunteer time over the course of the playing cycle.
Schedules and programming subject to change. Due to circumstances surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, the inclusion of two (2) Valor-hosted tournaments have been removed from club dues, and pricing has been reduced by $60 to reflect this.
