  Return To Play Guidelines

With the ongoing modifications to the protocol and guidelines provided by both the Office of the Governor and Washington Youth Soccer concerning COVID-19, Valor Soccer continues to keep safety the top priority for its players, coaches and other members.

  Training & Gameday Guidelines

Updated Jan. 1, 2022

  • No player, coach, parent, or any other person connected with the club should attend any Valor activity if they have COVID, are showing symptoms, or have been exposed to a person with COVID (details below).

  • All fully vaccinated and boosted (post 6 months from completing the primary series of Pfizer/Moderna or post 2 months from completing the primary series of J&J) Valor members, including coaches, players, parents and siblings are not required to wear facial coverings for any OUTDOOR activities, including all matches and training sessions, with the exception of those returning from a related quarantine (details below).

  • Unvaccinated Valor members and those who have not received a booster (post 6 months from completing the primary series of Pfizer/Moderna or post 2 months from completing the primary series of J&J) are encouraged to wear a mask at all times during club activities.

  • All players are encouraged to keep a distance (at least 6 feet) from people outside their direct household when not participating in a training session or match.

  • Valor coaches (including those who are fully vaccinated) and family members should keep a physical distance (at least 6 feet) as much as possible from all players, opponents and their family members, officials and opposing coaches.

  • Valor teams will not enter the bench area or the space another team has occupied until that team has fully departed and all Valor teams will leave the bench area within 5 minutes of a match ending.

  • Should a Valor player choose to wear a mask at any time that decision will be openly accepted and tolerated and the decision to wear a mask will not affect that player’s standing in any way.

  • For liability reasons, no player can participate in any Valor activity if their parent has not fully completed the online player registration process (as either a fully rostered player or trialist).

  • Some counties, clubs, or field providers may have tighter restrictions than those above (such as the wearing of masks) and all Valor members (players, parents and others) will be fully compliant of all policies.

Protocol for Incidence of Positive COVID-19 Test

  • The coach or player must notify the club immediately, and per the new guidelines from the CDC as of Dec. 27, 2021, must quarantine for 5 days from the date of the positive test.  If presenting no symptoms or the symptoms are resolving after the 5 day isolation period, the player or coach may return to training and matches but must wear a mask at ALL TIMES, including while playing, for an additional 5 days.

  • If the player or coach who tested positive has been in contact with his or her team over the last 48 hours, the team will be notified (identities will be kept anonymous) and unvaccinated team members will be urged to be tested. If the team has played in a match over the last 48 hours the opponent will also be notified.

  • The team will continue activities as scheduled (with a substitute coach where needed).
