Return To Play Guidelines

With the ongoing modifications to the protocol and guidelines provided by both the Office of the Governor and Washington Youth Soccer, Valor Soccer continues to keep SAFETY as the top priority for its players, coaches and other members.  Our club continues to align itself with the recommended guidelines put forth by the State of Washington and Washington Youth Soccer.

  Training Session Policies & Procedures

  • No player or coach should attend a session if they feel unwell, show any signs of COVID-19 or are a close contact of a confirmed case.

  • Facial coverings are required for all coaches, volunteers and athletes at all times.

  • A physical distance of 6 feet must be maintained among athletes when not engaged in training activities and ‘huddles’ and other team meetings must be physically distanced.

  • A physical distance of 6 feet must be maintained between coaches and any other spectators or club officials at all times (exceptions for medical personnel when performing medical duties.)

  • Scrimmages against other teams (including other Valor teams) or mixing more than one team in a single session is not allowed.

  • Players are allowed to handle and move basic equipment, such as cones, markers, goals and ‘pinnies.’

  • Players and coaches should wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds before and after practice, especially after touching shared objects.

  • Coaches need to clean high touch surfaces and disinfect shared equipment before and after each use.

  • Participants should limit exposure to those outside their household during travel to and from practice sessions.  For groups that include more than one household in the same vehicle (carpool) all members of the travel group, including the driver, must wear a face covering and spread out as much as possible within the vehicle.

  • Only one spectator (parent/guardian/caregiver) for each minor-aged participant is allowed and all spectators must wear a mask at all times. No spectators are allowed for participants 18 and older.

  • Players must keep their gear (such as backpacks) 6 feet away from others and refrain from high fives, handshakes and hugs.  ‘Elbow bumps’ between teammates and coaches are permitted.

  • For liability reasons, no player can attend any session if their parent has not fully completed the online player registration process or the player is not a full fledged member of a Valor team.
