Once you've added player information for each child you plan to register, you will be shown a list of programs available to each player. Tryouts for boys in the U16-U19 age groups take place in the winter because the soccer season for their individual high schools coincides with spring tryout dates for all other age groups.

Yes. Tryouts are required for Valor Soccer's Elite, Premier, and Select programs.

We aim to make each player's tryout experience as stress-free as possible. Coaches and evaluators will be focused on observing players' abilities and understanding of soccer in game-like situations.

No. The tryout process will be fair and equitable to all players, and coaches will offer opportunities to players based on their ability and commitment level.

If your child will be absent from tryouts, you must still register them. The $25 non-refundable tryout fee will still apply. Coaches will talk with the player's parents and past coaches to learn more about their playing history and what levels and teams they have previously played with to determine their best fit at Valor in lieu of participation in tryouts.

Teams are formed based on player ability and commitment level. Player placement and team formation will be made after comprehensive evaluation by coaches and coaching directors. Valor Soccer has partnered with Playmetrics to streamline the tryout process for players and evaluators.

You will be contacted by phone or email within 24 to 48 hours of tryouts by a coach with an offer for a team. Players who do not make a team at Valor Soccer will be notified via email.

Yes. There may be player movement throughout the playing cycle based on individual player development and team needs.

All players must tryout with their appropriate age group. From there, a small number of players may be moved up to play with an older age group based on decisions made by our coaches and program director.

• Make sure players are rested, hydrated, and have eaten properly before tryouts. • Attend all tryout dates for your age group. • Be on time for tryouts. You will need to check in before tryouts begin. • Dress for the weather. Players should NOT wear any club gear (including Valor) to tryouts. • Wear shin guards and soccer cleats. • Bring a soccer ball and water.
